Planned Pelagic Seabird Trips

The next Hillarys pelagic seabird trip is on  Sunday 3rd August 2008 but it is fully booked.  The trips are usually on a Sunday in early to mid August, and I try to organise a trip in late June, but the sea temperatures for the past three years have meant that there has been very few birds to see.

The trip leaves at 7am from near AQWA at Hillarys Boat Harbour and returns by about 3:30pm.  There is a limit of 27 people.  Booking is essential.  The cost is expected to be $90 (more if fewer than 26 people book) and is payable on the day.  Book by email (foconnor@iinet.net.au) or by phoning me on (08) 9386 5694.

I would also like to organise pelagic trips from Albany each year especially between May and early November.  The cost is expected to be about $150 per person depending on numbers and which boat is used.  The Albany pelagics have had outstanding species including Black-bellied Storm-Petrel, Wandering Albatross, Sooty Albatross, Grey-headed Albatross, Grey Petrel, Kerguelen Petrel, White-headed Petrel, Sooty Shearwater and Arctic Tern  So hopes are very high for more successful trips.  Contact me if you are interested in these trips.
