Grey Plovers are a summer migrant.  They return to the north west in September, and to the south west in October although some over winter each year.  Their call is distinctive, as well as their black armpits in flight.  They are far more common on the west coast of Australia compared to the east coast.

Waders banded in the north west have plastic yellow leg flags on their upper leg.  Please report any sightings away from the north west.
