Black-tailed Treecreeper (Climacteris melanura)
The following are some photographs of Black-tailed Treecreepers banded at Broome in September 1992.

They occur in many parts of the Kimberley. They are common in several parts, but difficult to find near Broome.

Their call is very distinctive. They are my favourite treecreeper, and it is always a good days birding when one is seen. I saw one carrying food enter a small hollow in a eucalypt tree at the Argyle Diamond Mine in January 1999.
